Claiming that establishing a new location for shopping, hands-on cooking classes, private and community events, as well as wine and bourbon tastings, has been easy would be dishonest. Without the support and encouragement from my numerous contractors and family, who believe in me and drive the project forward, I would be overwhelmed.
We've experienced several delays that aren't the contractors' fault, but we're now nearing the final stages to open this December. What can you expect? Global Gourmet will offer a stunning array of wines and charcuterie items in our store. Whether you want to create your own board for the holidays or choose one that includes the finest cheeses, cured meats, olives, and spreads, we've got you covered.
Our classes are now available on our website and are beginning to fill up. Many have inquired if these are hands-on classes. Absolutely! You will be professionally guided through the cooking process at your own station. You'll not only learn the recipes but also chef-taught skills that you can apply during the class and at home. Enjoy a glass of wine or a cocktail while you learn. Feel free to dance to the music, laugh, and unwind for the evening. Sit down to savor the fruits of your labor and enjoy your beautiful creation!
Curious about what we do when classes aren't in session? Years ago, as a busy mom with multiple kids in sports and feeling worn out after a long day at work, I would often resort to takeout. I felt guilty because I knew I could cook a nutritious, fulfilling meal myself, but I was just too tired. At Global Gourmet, you have the option to pre-order or pick up healthy and delicious meals from our store to reheat during the week. Many of our clients note that it's more cost-effective per meal than fast-food chains and much healthier for you and your family! By the way we deliver!
We are gearing up for our catering season and corporate events! We will provide various spaces for private parties, available for both customer use and community engagement. We offer complete catering services for your private gatherings, ensuring unforgettable experiences for everyone involved.
I am delighted and excited to have this opportunity to bring our community together. I am eager to meet each one of you to build lasting friendships and create unforgettable memories together. What better way to express love than with chocolate chip cookies! Therefore, I'm sharing my personal recipe in the hope that you'll want to share some love!
Nikki's Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 cup Cold Salted Butter cut into small cubes
1 cup Light Brown Sugar
1/2 cup Sugar
2 Eggs (room temperature)
1 1/2 cups Cake Flour
1 1/2 cups Flour
2 teaspoon Cornstarch
3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda
1/4 teaspoon Salt
2 cups Chocolate Chips
2 cups Walnuts roughly chopped (optional)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
In a large mixing bowl, cream together cold cubed salted butter, light brown sugar, and sugar for 4 minutes or until creamy.
Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each one.
Stir in flours, cornstarch, baking soda, and salt. Mix until just combined to avoid overmixing. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
Separate dough into large balls and place on lightly colored cookie sheet. They are bigger than you think! You will fit 4 cookies on one large cookie sheet. The dough makes 8 extra-large cookies. Place in refrigerator for 1 hour.
Bake for 9-12 minutes or until golden brown on the top. Let them rest for at least 10 minutes to set.
I hope you enjoy and I look forward to many years of creating memories through Global Gourmet! I hope to see you very soon!
Nikki
